How to apply for a Scholarship

Applications for HIV Research Trust Scholarships for 2012 will be open from Monday 5 September 2011 and will close on Tuesday 18 October 2011

Applications for Scholarships are requested annually from early September to mid-October. For ease of communication with all the nations that might be involved, application is web and email based. You can find more details in the Guidance Notes.

Complete applications are assessed independently and judged by the quality of the proposal with respect to the science, the training to be received and the value of the programme to the home institution. Once this assessment has been made the successful scholars are chosen.

This selection is completed by the second half of December with successful Scholars being informed by the first or second week of January the following year at the latest. Detailed information on the application process can be found in the Guidance Notes accompanying this page. Please note that there are more applicants than can be funded, so adherence to the guidance is essential for the application to be considered.

In this website we have listed a brief description of past Scholars, their speciality and their area of research interest to show the range of research and training that has been covered. To help you plan your application, please download a sample application form. Please note: this is for guidance only and should not be used to make a final application.
