the merger of the Medicines Control Agency and the Medical Devices
Agency. Previously he was Chairman of the Committee on Safety
of Medicines and Professor of Clinical Pharmacology in the University
of Liverpool. |

Public Health at Yale School of Medicine. He is a former member
of the Governing Council of the International AIDS Society and

Diamond AIDS Research Center in New York City. |

Wahlgren
Mats Wahlgren is currently professor of parasitology and consultant
at the Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology, Karolinska
Institutet and the Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease
Control. Previously, chairman of the Microbiology and Tumor
Biology Center at Karolinska, program director of the Infection
& Vaccinology program and director of the Multilateral Initiative
on Malaria. His scientific interest focuses on the development
of drugs and vaccines to combat severe malaria. |

JM Prins
Dr. Jan Prins is Staff member at the Department of Infectious Diseases
and Head of the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Training Program,
Academic Medical Centre, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In 2002 and 2004
he worked as Preceptor during the start-up phase of Botswana's National
Antiretroviral Treatment Program, and currently coordinates the
collaboration between the Academic Medical Center and the Catholic
University of Beira, Mozambique. |
